It is a system of medicine that originated in India several thousand years ago. The term Ayurveda combines two Sanskrit words: ayur, which means life, and veda, which means science or knowledge. Ayurveda means “the science of life.” Ayurveda is a whole medical system which integrates and balances the body, mind, and spirit (thus, it is considered “holistic”). This balance is necessary for contentment and good health. Ayurveda also proposes treatments for specific health problems. A primary aim of Ayurvedic medicine is to cleanse the body of substances that can cause disease. This helps re-establish the harmony and balance necessary for optimal health. Ayurveda has long been the main system of health care in India. About 70 percent of India’s population lives in rural areas; about two-thirds of rural people use Ayurveda and medicinal plants to meet their primary health care needs. In addition, most major cities have an Ayurvedic college and hospital. There are 587536 registered traditional medical practitioners, 2860 hospitals providing Ayurvedic treatment, and 22100 dispensaries for traditional medicine in India. This allows over 500 million people in India to rely solely on Ayurveda today. @aparaajita10 Vaccines are sent to the third world for free. Insulin is developed now at near cost as is penicillin. If someone creates something that truely is effective do they not deserve to be rewarded. And placebos are the greatest money fountains of all, look at ayruveda and homepathy, no reasearch, no clinical trial, no study, no investment. Just billions of dollars in profits to “alternative medicine”. Science and Medicine invest and they deserve to be rewarded.
@daymyth the diseases were sent to the third world first, and the vaccines were not for charity, but to maintain a not sick cheap work force. And if 5000 years of experience does not prove anything, then why should i believe in what is done in the west, the test for a few months on rats & monkeys & a few weeks on people, & then boom, patent 7 money. By the time the drug is recalled, the money has been recovered, the damage to people prepped way for a new pill in the pipeline

@aparaajita10 Just because beliefs and ideas have been around for a long time are they deemed to be true. For the most part humanity believed the world was flat, that we were the center of the universe and that apollo rode his chariot around the earth carrying the sun.
I feel pity for you that you cannot appreciate the wonders of science. Science involves peer review, hard rigorous trails and experiments that must be replicateable. The FDA and other institutions are established to protect
@aparaajita10 the welfare of the people. To make sure that nothing dangerous is being allowed in. It has only been in the last 50-200 years since the advent of modern medicine that humans have doubled their life expectancy in the countries which these systems exist. So you can have your 5000 years of experience I’ll take me 200.

And thier constitutions and declarations are written in the blood of those that defended it. @aparaajita10 Don’t worry the feeling is mutual. But at the end of the day, Science triumphs because science works. I’m just wondering if your aware of the irony, because science (“the west”) is responsible for the creation of the communications networks you are currently using. And its rather funny that your so anti science, I always love the irony of these situations.

@aparaajita10 I’m talking about Science it has succeeded anywhere it is embraced, i.e. Japan. And I’m aware the west has battled hard. As i said, constitutions are written in blood. I did point that out myself. And science won the scopes “monkey” trail. Science has won many hard won battles and it shows its success by how it exponentially improves the quality of the countries it is embraced. Why do you detest a system that brings you so much? Why do you distrust that which has proven itself?
@aparaajita10 Application is by the choice of man. Nuclear fusion can be used for power or to create weapons with the power of suns. You decide what you do with the knowledge and truth that science gives you.
@daymyth to believe u i need 2 know your credentials. I am not jamming eastern system down your throat, just go & do what you want. As to the why’s, may be because I understand what you call science in the west, so I know what to trust & what not. Did it ever occur 2 u there may b sumtn u don’t kno & others kno? Others not from the west? And that there may be more to science than what u know?

@daymyth Exactly. you nailed that. And the way you apply your knowledge tells more about you than what you have to say or what you say you know. So, your applications were the choice. And you said it. As was the choice to outsource all polluting technology to the east, as a trojan horse.
@aparaajita10 The greatest method we have to understand our universe is, observation and experimentation. How else do we understand it? The system that is science can be used in the east and the west, it originated in the east. You have created a false dichotomy of the west and the east. The real charlatans are those of aryevada and homeopathy, they sell lies to make money. Its not about west or east, its about observation, evidence and efficacy. Science works our civilization is proof.
@aparaajita10 Funny thing about that is you can extract light out of a plant. You need to work out how to reverse the photosynthetic process, converting carbon source into high energy EM release.

I have had enough proof about both the areas to know what to believe & what not to believe, You are the one tryin to get other one off your back.
