In this video, Betty and Rick go to Happy Meadow Natural Foods in Berea, Kentucky to purchase some natural and organic foods for cooking in bettyskitchen. The store is located at 286 Glades Road in Berea, Kentucky and is packed with a wide variety of wonderful natural and organic foods. They sell locally produced foods when possible. We had a great time at the store and came away with a few things to show you in bettyskitchen! –Betty
Sesame seeds are cheap at Asian supermarkets and so are those sesame treats. I like going to them to find new spices or marinades in a jars and experimenting with them.
@1965blaze wow, congrats on the weight loss! That’s awesome!
Thank you for sharing your trips with us to places like this. I always enjoy watching them and learning about new places and shops that I may not otherwise get to experience.
In the first refrig, I saw our Reed’s Ginger Brew amongst other flavors. We love it here in N FL. Thanks for sharing your visit to the organic store. We are also big on them.We have Native Sun, The Fresh Market and Whole Foods to name some of them. We usually patronize all of them however.
Counter culture…lol….thats a great way of putting it!
…i miss Trader Joe’s…in Southern California….!
I would love a store like that here in Livonia, Michigan where I live. It looked like a great place. Thanks for taking us!
Thanks for sharing another one of your adventures!
Fun video! I must let Rick know what a fortunate man that he appears to be.

HI Betty ; ) That was pretty cool ! Have you ever heard of “Trader Joe’s Market” ? We have them out here in Southern California. Don’t know where else they are, but Trader Joes’s stores are just like Happy Meadows. In fact – I seen the same items at HM as I do in our Trader Joes. I LOVE going to Trader Joes ; ) I love the section that sales dried bags of fruits (and nuts) to put in my Special K Ceareal. Do you have a Trader Joes out there? Smiles
@ohpineapples Hi! I have heard of Trade Joe’s, but I don’t think we have one nearby. It sounds great!

Hi Betty! Will you consider making a video when you sprout your mung beans and alfalfa seeds? I’d love to learn how to do it. Thanks!

@bettyskitchen It’s the cutest store! The checkers Still take your entire basket of groceries out of our carts for us. We do nothing but giive the cart to the happy checker. There always so happy there. It’s all Organic, Sugar Free & heathly stuff. They also have someone near the produce section making some organic, vegatarian dish, health drinks to serve. You can get full just standing there talking to the person making the food It’s really very cool
@bettyskitchen Betty you should google Trader Joe’s it’s really a very cool store. I know a lot of guys that won’t shop in “regular” stores, but they will shop at Trader Joe’s because it’s pretty cool. lol
I wish there was a store like this near where i live. I like my flavors and stuff but i also enjoy very very plain and natural food. I once boiled just plain rice for a snack and enjoyed it to the max! Loved it. Just plain boiled rice with nothing elce. Everything in this store looks amazing. Stores like these should be called “Good mood food” stores.
My friend is from Berea and her dad works at the college. What a small world we live in. She actually talked about this store once when we were having a debate about organic and non-organic foods! So weird!
I shop at this store. Their organic milk is awesome!
