Chia Seed, great nutrition for everyone even post-ops!

I discovered Chia seeds, you buy them at the health food store you put them in drinks or yougurt or any food you wish. They are super high in fiber, protein, essential fatty acids antioxidants calcium etc. Get some today! Nutrition Data: 1 Table spoon= serving Calories:40 Fat:4gm (good fat) Carbs: 5gm Fiber: 5 gm Protein: 2gm Calcium: 76 mg No sugar. Can’t really taste them, kinda nutty. I like to mix them in my chili, black beans or soup As seen on Oprah, recommended by Dr Oz!

i start the liquid diet tomorrow i am 187 pounds and my goal is 130 pounds is what i used to be!

I read that the chia seed gelatinizes in liquid and in the stomach forms a barrier that slows down the carbs to sugar process. Since you’ve been taking them now for about a month or so, do you notice if they are helping your digestive system or are its benefits “invisible”…just wondering…
It does become a gel for sure. I have noticed that my hunger does not come back as quock after I eat them and I am much more regular now too, the fiber is really good for my digstive system for sure.
I’ve lost 9 lbs using Chia seed. I use the chiatogosite packets so that I can take it with me everywhere. You do not have to grind them like flax. You can easily add a packet to yogurt, salads, … The Chia makes you feel full so that you do not want to eat. As an extra, the Chia seed is super healthy, a superfood, and so, so, easy.

chia is grown not only in mexico but in different parts of the Americas, It also has different names, they calle it chang, it is a very common grain that a lot of people use in drinks, and in the Americas it is cheap! not as expensive as in the northen part of the Americas. As a child I used to drink it all the time, it is good enjoy it!

Yes, chia is a great food. I am an athlete and put it in everything I can. Great in protein shakes. Also acts as a kind of thickner. It really soaks up water. I get mine in bulk on line from some raw fooders Therawfoodworld. Best prices I could find.

Try putting it in 1 coup of water then stir and wait 15 min stir again then refrigerate over night it turns into a glue like substance then you can put it in you green smoothie in the morning it is great.

Do you know that their is 150 strains of chia seeds and level of nutrients and bio-availability is much diferent? Do you know what is the best on the market?
@surfer08008 YES! I’ve lost 9lbs too eating chia seeds!!! I Love them! I put them in a bottle of water with 1/2 fresh lemon juice and a tablespoon of honey! LOVE IT!
