I actually hate doing this for heavier weight for the very reason you mention of “cheating”. I rather just get on an incline bench and pick up a dumb bell and do one arm at a time. This way you can “spot yourself” and maximize the workout. Not only can you do this to failure, but also beyond.
I pick a weight I can do 6-8 reps with one hand. Then I spot my self for an additional 2 reps (beyond failure).
Note: Preacher curl machine works too. Just grip with one hand.

hi can you do a vid on a foream workout, specifically one that does the front of your forearm (same side as you knuckles) with a dumbell.
